50% ₹9 lakh ₹67,600 +₹22,600 (50.2%)

How it's calculated

  1. Hike % = (new CTC − old CTC) ÷ old CTC × 100.
  2. New CTC = current CTC × (1 + hike ÷ 100). The rise a month is the rise a year ÷ 12.
  3. In-hand pay before and after uses the same steps as our salary calculator: the employer's PF comes out of the CTC, then your PF (12% of basic) and professional tax, then income tax.
  4. Income tax follows the new regime for FY 2026-27: a ₹75,000 standard deduction, the slab rates, no tax up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income (Section 87A rebate, with marginal relief just above it) and 4% cess. Budget 2026 kept the FY 2025-26 slabs, rebate and standard deduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a salary hike percentage?
Subtract your old CTC from the new one, divide by the old CTC and multiply by 100. Going from ₹6 lakh to ₹7.2 lakh is (7,20,000 − 6,00,000) ÷ 6,00,000 × 100 = 20%. To go the other way, multiply your CTC by (1 + hike ÷ 100): a 15% hike on ₹6 lakh gives 6,00,000 × 1.15 = ₹6,90,000.
Why does my in-hand pay rise by less than my hike?
Part of the rise goes to income tax and PF. On a ₹12 lakh CTC no income tax is due under the new regime for FY 2026-27, because taxable income stays within the ₹12 lakh rebate limit. A 25% hike to ₹15 lakh brings ₹86,268 a year of income tax, so in-hand pay rises from ₹90,200 to ₹1,05,611 a month: 17.1%, not 25%.
How much more will I get in hand with a 30% hike on ₹6 lakh?
Your CTC goes to ₹7.8 lakh and your in-hand pay from ₹45,000 to ₹58,560 a month, ₹13,560 more (30.1%). That assumes basic pay is 40% of CTC, PF of 12% of basic from you and your employer, ₹2,400 a year of professional tax and the new tax regime.
Does a hike increase my PF deduction?
Yes, when your PF is 12% of basic pay and basic is a share of CTC. On a ₹6 lakh CTC with basic at 40%, your PF is ₹2,400 a month. After a 20% hike to ₹7.2 lakh it is ₹2,880 a month, and your employer's contribution rises by the same amount. If your PF is capped at 12% of ₹15,000, it stays at ₹1,800.
Is a hike worked out on CTC, fixed pay or basic pay?
It can be any of them, so check your appraisal or offer letter. This calculator applies the hike to the whole CTC. If your letter gives a percentage of fixed pay only, enter your fixed pay as the CTC; if it gives a new CTC, use the "Old and new CTC" tab.
